Morocco

Branding Identity Design for an independent restaurant that serves classic Mediterranean dishes. The designs are derived from its birthplace, the walled Moroccan city, Chefchaoen.

Their goal is simple -  to serve the most delicious dishes whilst still incorporating its traditional methods.

My designs are inspired by the popular Preserved Lemon in Morocco. I decided to take the lemon pip illustration forward and created a pattern that relates back to this traditional preserved fruit as well as imitating the walled Moroccan city Chefchaoen.  This unique city, lined with blue-washed buildings inspired my colour pallet.

I created the brand a signature pattern which was then executed onto the chosen deliverables; menus, business cards, matches and delivery materials.

I wanted the brand to have an authentic handmade feel, so it would relate back to the brand's roots. Therefore, I chose to use hand-drawn style typography paired with screen-printed designs that mimic the walled city of Chefchaoen.
